CIMSPA launches Chartered Activity and Health Practitioner

– Opening up a pathway to chartered status for personal trainers and
coaches

– CIMSPA members can begin their chartered journey now
15 September 2020
CIMSPA (the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical
Activity) today launches its Chartered Activity and Health Practitioner
status. This opens up, for the first time, a pathway through to
chartered status for individual practitioners in personal training,
fitness, exercise and coaching.

THE NEW CIMSPA CHARTERED ACTIVITY AND HEALTH PRACTITIONER STATUS IS THE
HALLMARK OF A QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL AND WILL BE AWARDED TO THOSE
PROFESSIONALS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED CONSISTENT EXCELLENCE, INNOVATION
AND QUALITY. CIMSPA MEMBERS WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY FOR CHARTERED MEMBER
AND CHARTERED FELLOW STATUS AND CAN BEGIN THEIR CHARTERED JOURNEY TODAY
BY DOWNLOADING AN APPLICATION PACK [2].

Individuals achieving chartered status will benefit from enhanced status
and recognition of their professional competence and expertise, along
with tailored benefits and further professional development
opportunities.
Tara Dillon, CEO of CIMSPA, said:

“This new chartered category for practitioners is a key part of our
vision of a respected, regulated and recognised sector that everyone
wants to be a part of. We are committed to building pathways to
chartered membership and fellowship for everyone in our sector – a
status which is awarded to those who have become true champions of our
sector’s values.”
Kayley Stabler became the first CIMSPA Chartered Activity and Health
Practitioner, through a pilot programme earlier this year:
“Chartered status appealed to me as a process by which personal
trainers and coaches can be held accountable for their individual
standard of practice and ensures the development of the industry itself.
I hope the successful attainment of chartered status will give
prospective clients confidence in my externally validated ability as a
personal trainer and that, as the industry progresses, we establish an
exceptional calibre of practice, contributing to the nation’s health.”
